Fixtures and results;
Knocknagoshel hosted Tarbert in round one of the County League on Sunday afternoon. Having dominated the opening stages the home side lead 6 points to no score at the midway point in the first half. Ger O’Sullivan added two points for Tarbert while Knocknagoshel had three points by Edmond Walsh in the remainder of the half. Half time: Knocknagoshel 0-9 Tarbert 0-2
Tarbert reduced the deficit to four points early in the second half with points from Ger O’Sullivan, Killian Langan and Patsy O’Connell but Knocknagoshel responded with points from Shane O’Connell and Edmond Walsh. With four minutes remaining Edmond Walsh found the net to end the game as a contest. Tarbert were awarded a penalty in injury time but Ger O’Sullivan’s effort was saved by Mike Casey. Final score: Knocknagoshel 1-14 Tarbert 0-9

Knocknagoshel will play Finuge in round two of the county league on Sunday 15th March at 2pm in Finuge.


Minors;
Knocknagoshel/Brosna/Duagh minors will play Castlegregory on Saturday 14th March at 4pm in Castlegregory. On St. Patricks Day Knock/Brosna/Duagh minors will play Firies at 4pm in Firies.


Lotto;
The lotto draw for a jackpot of €9,400 was held in Moynihans Bar on Saturday night last. The numbers drawn were 2,8,13 and 16. There was no winner of the jackpot. The five lucky dips of €30 each were won by Triona Keating Rathkeale, Michael Deenihan Brosna, Norma Cahill Knocknagoshel, Margaret Keane Knocknagoshel and Conor Hickey Knocknagoshel. The next draw will be for a jackpot of €9,500 and will be held in O’Connors Bar on Saturday 4th April. Tickets are available from Kieran’s XL, Supervalu Abbeyfeale, Dillanes shop Feales Bridge, the local bars and usual sellers. Our club lotto can also be played online by following the link on www.knocknagoshel.gaa.ie.


Coiste na nÓg Registration Day;
Knocknagoshel GAA will hold a registration day for families and juvenile members on Sunday 15th March at 12.15pm.


Knocknagoshel Clothes Collection;
Knocknagoshel GAA are holding an ongoing clothes collection to help raise funds for the club. Bags of clothes can be left into the white lorry container near the log cabin at the Football Field. Please note that nothing else is acceptable other than clothing, shoes and handbags.

Fixtures and results;
Knocknagoshel got their first victory of the season in the North Kerry league when they overcame Ballylongford on Sunday morning in Ballylongford. Despite all the rain of recent days the pitch was in very good condition and lent itself to an open and high scoring game. Goals in the first half from James Walsh and John Walsh had Knocknagoshel leading at half time by 2-7 to 7 points. Liam McCarthy and Ciaran O'Connor were the point scorers for the home side. Ballylongford had a promising start to the second half with two well taken advanced marks leading to points from Ciaran O'Connor but Knocknagoshel slowly regained control of the game with Michael Walsh driving his team forward from centre back and Shane O'Connell growing in stature in midfield. Some well taken points from Michael Keane, Edmund Walsh and Michael Walsh ensured victory for the visitors on a score of 2-12 to 0-14.

Knocknagoshel will play Moyvane in the North Kerry League on Sunday 1st March at 2pm in Moyvane.

Knocknagoshel have been drawn in a group with Annascaul, Sneem/Derrynane and Kilgarvan in the Junior Championship. Games will take place in late March and April.

Knocknagoshel/Brosna/Duagh minors will play An Ghaeltacht in the County Minor League on Saturday 29th February. Venue to be confirmed.

Fixtures;
Knocknagoshel seniors commence the 2020 season with a home fixture against neighbours Duagh in the North Kerry League on Sunday 2nd February at 2pm.

Coiste na Nóg;
The new underage goalposts arrived during the week. We would like to thank everyone who organised and supported the fundraising quiz and draw to help purchase the goalposts.

Membership;
Membership rates for 2020 are: General Membership €30, Senior Players €50, College Students €30 and minor players €20. Family rates are also available. Benefits of membership are that players are insured to play; ordinary members can use the track at the field and can seek tickets from the club for Kerry games. It is also a great way to show your support for the club. Membership can be paid using the GAA app, on clubforce.com or by contacting any club officer.

All Ireland Junior Club Final;
Congratulations to Na Gaeil and Diarmuid Herlihy on winning the All Ireland Junior Final. Diarmuid is son of Micheal Herlihy from Knockane.

The lotto draw for a jackpot of €8,100 was held in The Village Inn on Saturday night last.

Membership Registration Night

Knocknagoshel GAA Club are holding a registration night for adult members on Friday 1st February from 8 - 9pm at the clubhouse. 

Membership rates for 2019 are: 
General membership €30
Senior players €50 
College students €30 
Minor players €20.  

Benefits of membership are players are insured to play, ordinary members can use the track at the field and ordinary members can seek tickets from the club for Kerry games. It is also a great way to show your support of the club. 

Operation Transformation 2019

Knocknagoshel GAA has again come on board with Operation Transformation to join forces for "Ireland Lights Up".  

Every Thursday evening from 7-9pm for 6 weeks, from January 17th to Februbary 21st our clubhouse and pitch will be open and lit up for you, your friends and your family to get out together and walk with us on our guided OT Ireland Lights Up 2019 walk. 

This event is open to all fitness levels and all age groups so get behind Knocknagoshel GAA Club as we support the nation in this wonderful community initiative to get Ireland moving.
