Operation Transformation Lights Up

A reminder that every Monday evening until the 26th February 2018, our clubhouse and pitch will continue to be open and lit up for you, your friends and your family to get together and walk with us, on our guided Operation Transformation Ireland Lights Up 2018 Walk from 7pm-9pm. 

 This event is open to all fitness levels and all age groups so get behind Knocknagoshel GAA Club as we support the nation in this wonderful community initiative to get Ireland moving!

Fixtures and Results;

Knocknagoshel seniors began their season with the visit of near neighbours Duagh to Willie Walsh Park on Sunday last. Duagh were much sharper in the first half and lead handsomely at the half time break. Knocknagoshel improved in their handling of the ball in the second half and will take some positives from the game. The final score was 2-12 to 1-6 in favour of Duagh. Knocknagoshel travel to Asdee next Sunday for their second game in the North Kerry league.


Registration;

Registration for all Underage players will take place on Sunday March 11th at 12.30p.m. in the log cabin. Fees for 2018 are the first child in a family costs €20, the second child costs €15 and subsequent children in a family are free. 


Membership;

Membership of Knocknagoshel GAA club is now open for 2018. Membership remains the same price as last year. An ordinary member pays €30 for membership. Senior players pay €50, college students pay €30 while minor players pay €20. Benefits of membership are players are insured to play, ordinary  members can use the track at the field and ordinary members can seek tickets from the club for Kerry games. It's also a great way to show your support of the club. Membership can be paid to club officers between now and Mid-March. It can also be paid online through the club website www.knocknagoshel.gaa.ie. 


Knocknagoshel Clothes Collection:

Knocknagoshel GAA are holding an ongoing clothes collection to help raise funds for the club. Bags can be left into the white lorry container near the log cabin at the Football Field. All types of clothes are accepted as well as shoes,handbags, curtains & towels. 

Schools Football:

The club would like to congratulate John Walsh who played at centre back for CBS Tralee team who beat Ballincollig to qualify for the Munster Final.

February Lotto

The lotto draw for a jackpot of €6900 was held on Saturday night last in Roche's Bar, Knocknagoshel. 

The numbers drawn were 9, 20, 22 and 31. 

 There was no winner of the jackpot. 

The five lucky dips of €30 each drawn went to

Knocknagoshel GAA Clothes Collection

Knocknagoshel GAA are holding a clothes collection to help raise funds for the club. Bags can be left into the white lorry container near the log cabin at the Football Field. All types of clothes are accepted as well as shoes,handbags, curtains & towels. 

National Club Draw 2018

Tickets for the GAA National Club Draw are available to purchase from club officers and senior club players for €10 each. 

The range of prizes on offer are excellent, Starting from a new Renault car, a travel voucher to the value of 2000 euro, shopping voucher for 1,000 euro, All-Ireland Football Final Package 2018 and many more. 

All proceeds from the sale of these tickets stay in the club. If your not in you can't win.

Annual General Meeting;
The annual general meeting of Coiste na n-Óg will take place on this Friday January 12th at 7p.m. in the log cabin. All parents of underage players are asked to attend this meeting.

Congratulations;
Well done to Cathal and Jack McElligott of Knockbrack, Knocknagoshel who have been selected on the Under 14 North Kerry School of Excellence team. We wish them both the best of luck as they continue to represent the club at a higher level.

Senior Team;
Training for the 2018 season will begin this weekend with fixtures in the North Kerry league commencing in early February and the first round of the county league set for March 11th. Following a great turnout of players for the charity game held prior to Christmas we hope to have a stronger panel of players going into the new season. Any players who haven't been involved or are interested in joining the panel for training should contact the Chairman Dan Roche on 087 6411397 or Secretary John O'Keeffe on 087 7176698.

AGM 2017

The AGM of Knocknagoshel GAA club was held on Saturday December 9th with a number of changes at the helm of the club. Noel Brosnan handed over the baton to Dan Roche after an eleven year stint as Chairman of the club. Dan will be joined by John O'Keeffe as secretary and Kitsy Fitzgerald who steps into the role of PRO. The following officers were elected for 2018;

Under 16 North Kerry Champions

Congratulations to Richard Cotter and the Knock/Brosna/Duagh Under 16 players who defeated Ballydonoghue on a score of 4-10 to 1-09 to win The North Kerry Championship on Sunday Last. Well done to all involved.
