Knocknagoshel defeated Renard in Knocknagoshel on Saturday evening on a scoreline of 2-9 to 1-6.

This was a keenly contested affair with both sides giving it everything from the throw in. Edmund Walsh opened the scoring with a pointed free in the first minute for Knocknagoshel but wing back Kevin Curran popped up to open Renards account with a point in the 5th minute. The sides traded points with two Brian Sullivan frees for Renard, another Kevin Curran effort and a David Sullivan point being matched by John O'Keeffe, Edmund Walsh and Niall Barrett for Knocknagoshel. The decisive score of the half was a goal for Knocknagoshel from the boot of John O'Keeffe in the 28th minute to send Knocknagoshel in leading at the break by 1-4 to 0-5.

Knocknagoshel started the brighter in the second half with a long range point from Edmund Walsh followed by a goal from substitute Padraig McElligott. Knocknagoshel were well on top at this stage but a goal from midfielder Shane O'Sullivan gave Renard hope as it was followed immediately by a Brian Sullivan point but this was to be their last score as Knocknagoshel regained control of the game and finished with points from Edmond Walsh and Joe Regan. Both sides now have 6 points from 4 games in division 5.
