Knocknagoshel 2-14 Ballylongford 2-9

Knocknagoshel gained their first brace of points in division 4 with a hard fought victory over Ballylongford in Willie Walsh Park on Sunday.

Bally opened the scoring with a pointed free from Joe McCarthy but Knocknagoshel had the next three scores in a row from both midfielders, a Shane O'Connell goal and two James Walsh points. Ciaran O'Connor replied with a point for Bally before Kieran Long got on the end of a well worked move to rifle
to the net for Knocknagoshel. Knock were well on top at this stage but failed to capitalise on chances and allowed Bally back in to the game with a goal from Stephen Carmody. Joe McCarthy added a point before Edmund Walsh took back the initiative for Knock with two fine points from play. Bally had three points in a row from play to keep them in touch before half time. Half time score was 2-6 to 1-7 in favour of the home side.
