Knocknagoshel 2-16 Ballylongford 0-4

Both sides were missing key players going into this game but it was the home side that rose to the challenge better and scored the first four points of the opening half. James Walsh playing at midfield in the absence of his brother Edmund kicked three of these with Dan Roche contributing a point from play. Casual play in the Knocknagoshel full back line lead to turnovers and Kiki Mulvihill and Joe McCarthy profited with two points from play. These were to be the only scores of the first half for the visitors as Knocknagoshel went on to score 1-4 without reply, the goal coming from Gary Downey who was playing in his first game since returning from a broken ankle. Niall Barrett and James Walsh kicked two points each from play.

The second half continued in the same vein with Knocknagoshel opening the scoring with a point from Mike Murphy followed by a point from team captain Shane O'Connell who was lording the midfield exchanges. James Walsh extended the lead with two frees before Ray O'Sullivan replied with a point for Ballylongford. A Denis Collins goal put a gloss on the scoreline for the home side and further points from David O'Donoghue, Shane O'Connell and Darragh O'Connell ensured Knocknagoshel won at ease with the only other score for Ballylongford coming from Kieran O'Connor. Final score Knocknagoshel 2-16 Ballylongford 0-4.
