Knocknagoshel 2-9 Kerins O'Rahilly's B 7-6

In a goal fest in Knocknagoshel it was the visitors whose forwards ran riot pillaging seven goals, four in the first half and three in the second. John McGrath opened the scoring with a point from play for the visitors. Knocknagoshel replied with a point from play from full forward John O'Keeffe. Donagh O'Brien got the visitor's first goal with a lobbing shot that dipped in to the top corner out of reach of the Knocknagoshel goalkeeper.  Paudie Griffin who looked lively throughout turned his man and ran in along the endline to score their second goal. Their forwards combined very well in this period with some slick passing in contrast to some poor passing from the home team. The half time score stood at 4-3 to 0-4 with Knocknagoshel's other points coming from a 45 by David O'Donoghue and a point from play from the boot of Shane O'Connell.

Rory O'Connor raided forward from his half back position to goal early in the second half for the visitors and put the game completely out of reach of Knocknagoshel. The home side did raise their game in this half and had two goals of their own from midfielder Shane O'Connell who combined well with his forwards to open up the heart of Rahilly's defence. Points from Denis Collins(2), John Walsh and John O'Keeffe helped put a degree of respectability on the scoreboard for the home side but Rahilly's ability to score goals at will ensured they would take the two league points on offer and give themselves a fighting chance of finishing in the top half of the group
