North Kerry League vs Moyvane

Knocknagoshel 2-7 Moyvane 2-9

The game was played on a rain sodden pitch and the strong winds at times militated against free flowing play. It was a credit to both sets of  players who fought it out under the conditions and some excellent scores were taken by both sides. Knocknagoshel dominated the first half but Moyvane always threatened when they attacked. Knock controlled midfield through Michael Walsh and the constant running at the Moyvane defence and the half back line in particular Gary Downey caused real problems . David O'Donoghue needed 2 chances from the penalty spot to rattle in Knock's first goal. He followed it up with a wonderful point minutes later.  Knock's second goal came from a high ball into the square which David O'Donghue fisted into the net.

Knocknagoshel started the second half well with 2 Niall Barrett frees keeping the gap at 8 points as Moyvane also kicked 2 early points. As the wind and rain intensified midway during the second half  Knocknagoshel found themselves with their backs to the wall against a Moyvane onslaught. It was very diffcult to get the ball up the field and Moyvane started to tag on some scores. The decisive scores were the two Moyvane goals with one coming from the penalty spot late in the game. Moyvane edged 2 in front seconds before the final whistle with a Shane Stack point . Final score Moyvane 2-10 Knocknagoshel  2-8.
